"Leaders are learning that the empowerment 'servant leadership' represents is one of the key principles that will be the deciding point between an organization's enduring success or its eventual extinction."

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Knapp Family Foundation's primary purpose is to to assist disadvantaged, diverse students with their goals to pursue a college education, internship, and employment. It is their hope to create servant leaders whose core values include family, personal faith, integrity, character, health, optimism and respect for others. They look for candidates who are willing to pursue excellence in business and life with the ultimate purpose of service to others, as Robert Knapp has done in his life following his personal and professional motto: "choosing growth over fear."

BEYOND

Additionally, the Knapp Family Foundation believes that education is one of the strongest weapons in fighting poverty whether it's through building literacy or providing equal opportunities and access to educational programs. Along with scholarships, they care deeply about and support organizations and higher learning facilities that cross boundaries to provide quality education to help people reach their highest potential. During the life of the Foundation, they have donated to Proctor Academy, Connecticut College, 826 Boston, Midwest Food Bank, North Bennett Street School, Heifer International, Edible Schoolyard, and Kids Play International, among others.
